Photography is special. It allows you to look through the eyes of another person and see as they see. Powerful pictures not only capture the moment of the individual in the pictures but the view of the photographer and what that photographer finds interesting in that moment.
I really enjoy looking at pictures snapped by different photographers and today’s featured photographer is no different. Ranjan Banerji takes photos of everything from elephants to insects – capturing every detail in between. Some of his best work can be seen in full at his photography website. I’ll attempt to do him justice with the few photos below:

Owl during the day. Being nocturnal getting the attention of this bird at mid day is not exactly very easy. But I finally managed a wink.
Got lucky watching this lesser fish eagle coming in for a landing. The entire series can be seen at my photography site.
Fireworks. Who doesn’t like those!
I was hiking to this fort in a remote part of India when all of a sudden from around a bend this camel came running with these little kids riding it. I did my best to get a shot and not get run over. The expression on the kids was priceless.
Insects are always fun and under the lens they can be scary looking too.
Gharial. Found only in India and now facing extinction.
Seeing a large male elephant from so close is quite an experience.
Truly Beautiful Shots. Makes me want to see more of the world! Until next time.

Keep up the great work Ranjan! I especially love your macro water photos, but I’m a sucker for abstract art with lots of colors.
