Remote Start That Car

So Check it out. Everyone has heard of Viper Car Alarms – or at least most people have. They don’t only make car alarms but remote starters as well. Here’s where the fun comes in. Now im going to take a few things into consideration:

1. When it’s cold you would rather start your car from your room instead of walking out side.
2. You are willing to pay for this luxury.
3. You like the look on peoples faces when you surprise them with something amazing that they don’t quite understand.

Ok as long as you can check those three things off your list we are on the same page. Viper SmartStart is an application you can download to your iPhone (for free) that pairs with a remote starter supplied by Viper (not for free). This allows you to start your car remotely, unlock/lock your doors, pop your trunk, or set off your panic alarm from basically anywhere you get phone service.

Try standing 300 feet away and using your current remote control – Not gunna happen. This also allows you to scare people in Walmart parking lots by setting off your panic alarm when they walk by – and you can be a safe distance away so they will never suspect little old you .  Did I mention you can buy and install these gems at your local best buy?

Ever had the need to access information on your home (or office) computer but you couldn’t because you were somewhere else? Ever need to help someone trouble shoot a problem but couldn’t see their desktop? I have come across these (and other issues like it) many times throughout my IT career and have finally come across a solution (and it’s free … shhhhh). Log Me In is a remote computer access product that offers many different flavors to fit your needs. There are a few that allow you to help multiple people remotely (these cost money) but they also have a product called Log Me In Free which allows a user to create an account, download software on their computer, then access their computer from anywhere using their account information. It’s as easy as email. All you have to do is remember your log in information and you can access your computer from any computer that has internet access.

You might say “hey I don’t want just anyone having access to my computer”. The good part about Log Me In is that they require you to authenticate (use your password) to your home computer before logging into it. This means that unless you (or a potential intruder) knows the password that is established on your home computer then there is no way for them to access your information.
