Just a little Tech love … aint nothin wrong with that. Here’s an accumulation of many of my most read articles. A little second hand love never hurt anybody. PS there are 10 of em cause I give em all a 10 … a TEYEN!!

How this Betters Your Life: “Girls: Mix and Match outfits without having to try them on (and save your favorites) Guys: It doesn’t but get your girl to pick out some nice outfits and maybe you can turn a few heads”

What you need: “An iPhone, Clothes, and at least a little fashion sense”

I’m sure everyone has seen the commercials from Gap outlining their new StyleMixer App that lets you mix and match various outfits that you own (or want to own). At first glace I thought it wasn’t much but with a little inspiration from Clarabelle I decided to dig a little deeper.

What this App can Do?

1. Style for him or her – In case your not so sure … or if your a single iPhone household but want to help stylize everyone in the family.
2. Add your own Clothes- I know everyone doesn’t shop exclusively at the GAP so this is a very helpful feature. You simply tap the + button to add an item and take a picture of it. I suggest doing the clothes you wear the most first then move on to the lesser worn items (or if your feeling super productive/bored you can do it all in one day).
3. Mix and Match Outfits – This is the money maker for this app. This feature allows you to see all of your clothes that you have in your closet by simply scrolling through the pictures of them (very nice). You can also take pictures of yourself in the clothes to remember how they look on you.
4. See What others are wearing – Need a little inspiration for the outfit your wearing tonight? You can check out what others are wearing with the community feature.
5. Find A Gap – Of course the GAP App has to make it as easy as possible for you to find one of their stores so they include a Gap Finder Option also.

Ideas:

1. Use this app while your shopping to see if that item you “desperately need” matches what you already own.
2. Do your shoes match that dress you want to buy? This app’s for that.
3. See how that new purse fits into your wardrobe.
4. I’m sure girls can think of countless other ways to use this app (put some in the comments)

Overall, this apps almost as cool as making your own free ringtones in itunes. If you have a little extra time on your hands and are all about fashion this can be a very useful App. It only gets 2 stars from the App store rating but I think that’s very low for this Apps capabilities. For all of the Amazing things that the iPhone can do I’ve always wondered why it can’t just store and access documents. While the iphone can view Word, Excel, and PDF files that have been sent by email it would be nice to have an app that simply has a collection of files that you can view on your phone (Enter Drop Box). Drop Box is an online application which allows you to store, sync and share files online. They are popular due to their easy interface and they integrate seamlessly with any operating system. This type of system would be great to use even if you didn’t have an iPhone but if you do it opens up a world of possibilities. You can store PDF files on your drop box account (such as PDF books … who needs a kindle). Drop Box even allows you to store pictures on your account and share them with other people by giving it a unique URL. With drop box you get a free account with 2GB of storage and if you want more there are a few paid flavors. Let me know if you can find any more cool ways to use drop box in the comments section.

PS. If you don’t have an iPhone Drop Box can also be used to simply keep your files synced between various computers which is a great service to have access to.
