So what’s the magic? L5 my friend. L5 created a free app that uses an not so free adapter to take over your remote controls. The process of copying each button may be a little tedious but once it’s done you no longer need your remotes.

I say take it for a spin!!

Ok Ok just listen first before you pass judgement. I’m actually not sure if this service even works but it’s a great idea haha. I found this service on one of the money saving blogs I read but basically it allows you to turn in an old book that you don’t read for one that you want to read. Cool right?

It’s called paperbackswap. I suggest checking it out.

Ever wonder what’s the big deal about schools like Harvard, Yale, and MIT? I mean we all know that the best and brightest aim for these schools and their curriculum must be really tough and “ground breaking” or something but what really separates their courses from ones at any other accredited university?

Good question I say but I don’t think it’s worth a years pay to find out – Insert AcademicEarth.org. Academic Earth archives video courses of lectures from all of the top schools and best of all it’s free.

Want to get an educated on web technology from a professor at Harvard? It’s just a click away. I can’t wait to look at all of the courses they have.

This weekend I had a brilliant Idea (that I found out already exists … like most of my brilliant ideas). What if you could Schedule Text Messages?

You know like: “Hey future self if it’s 3:30am on Saturday you should be sleeping” or for the female population “Hey future self do NOT drunk text your ex boyfriend”. I found a few more practical uses for it this weekend. I sent my lady friend a text that said “Psssst I love you” as a test and also scheduled a text to one of my friends to remind him we were leaving for a restaurant:  “Hey we are leaving for the pub now”.

This services is pretty sweet and it’s free. I’m sure you can think of a number of ways to use it. Let me know if you think of anything super clever.

Ok ok I admit it. I’ve been lazy. I haven’t posted in a while because i’ve really been trying to focus on my other endeavours and they have swallowed me whole. I need to really take my own advice on being more productive.

I recently stumbled upon this site called flavors.me that allows you to:

First thoughts – sounds cool please continue. So I watched the intro video … verrrry artsy.

Ok your product is sexy i’ll admit it. But how easy is it to use? … Fine I’m signing up. Geeze. Check out the intro video here.

I’m a dork about technology and websites but humor me for a second … Well 5 seconds.

One of the blogs I subscribe to showed me this awesome site called fivesecondtest.com that allows you to test out websites for web designers. Usually this seems like a long drawn out process but the kicker is that every test lasts only 5 seconds!

I guess someone must have realized that we get bored very easily and made the length of the test reflect such.

I have been playing around with this site for a few days and it’s actually kind of fun. It asks you to look at a site and see what the first thing is you’d click on. It also asks you to look at a site for 5 seconds and tell what you remember from the site. All of these things really help web designers out as far as usability goes and hey it’s a fun “game” to kill a little time.

Sounds like fun

Ok Ok. I might be a little overly excited but this is AWESOME. You know how websites usually want people to sign up … nope not this one. It’s special, VIP, invitation only, sweeeeet!

I read this article a few days ago that says you should build suspense when writing your articles. Not only should the information be amazing but it should have a little lingering to it. Don’t put out right away so to speak – add a little mystery to the courtship.

Well that’s enough mystery for me. The site is called dribble.com – not 2 b’s but 3 (how cool is that!) – dribble dot com is a virtual play ground for designers. Only the cream of the crop get invited to wander around in it’s greatness.

I’ve only just found this site and I already want to be a part of it. Now to get my design chops in order so I can get that invite!

Build some forms ... go ahead you know you wanna

HTML Forms are the bane of my existence. They aren’t fun to style and for the novice web developer will prove quite the challenge. Motion?

I dunno i’m feeling sort of abstract today. I am considering making a move both in physical location and career wise so a dirivative of moving is motion …. which is a photography topic. It all makes sense – at least in my head.

After a quick trip to flickr you can see that there are a lot of different pictures showing motion and lack there of. Very interesting. Where are  you going these days?
