I got a quote from somewhere that said “what get’s measured gets managed”.
This is a simple quote but after a while I thought about it a little more and even tried to apply it to life. I easily persuade myself to stop keeping track of things for the sake of simplicity but I have found that when I am tracking my goals – whether it’s fitness or financial – It really helps to be able to look back at where I was, where I am, and where I want to be.
I think everyone should have a mechanism for tracking things and a cool online tool called Daytum has created a site just for that. Daytum allows you to track anything and everything and display it in whatever format suits you best.
You can make your goals public like I have or you can make the private. It helps to make them public if you want to enforce some sort of created accountability with your goals but if you want to keep them to yourself by all means do.
“What gets measured gets managed”. Simple words that can help you reach extraordinary results.

Photography is special. It allows you to look through the eyes of another person and see as they see. Powerful pictures not only capture the moment of the individual in the pictures but the view of the photographer and what that photographer finds interesting in that moment.
I really enjoy looking at pictures snapped by different photographers and today’s featured photographer is no different. Ranjan Banerji takes photos of everything from elephants to insects – capturing every detail in between. Some of his best work can be seen in full at his photography website. I’ll attempt to do him justice with the few photos below:

It’s true. Every day your website gets graded whether you want it to or not. Did you study?
Search Engines rank your site on a number of factors and usually you have to be masochistic or have a strong desire to drown yourself in numbers to do something about it. Insert website grader.

As I get older it never ceases to amaze me how awesome people can be. I know people starting clothing lines, record labels, and running successful photography companies.
Oh photography – there’s just something about a stunning smile or even a moment of nervousness that once captured on film remains priceless forever. Weddings seem to have a lot of these moments so no wonder wedding photography is not only popular but some would argue mandatory!
Ashley Ferren Davis, of Happy Heart Photography specializes in capturing these breath-taking moments and allowing them to be shared with family and friends. (You can view more photos from Ashley on flickr).

Websites in Today’s World
The key is interactivity.
People are tired of plain old websites these days. Much like buying a Flat Screen TV – people could use the regular one but they want something more exciting. They want some whiz bang. They want moving parts and a little action. This little fact adds countless hours to a web designers time and for that I thank you … No really Thank you.
On the outside it may seem that making a project harder for a web designer is a bad thing but lets look at the bigger picture for a second. By forcing someone to think like they’ve never thought before they usually end up creating a solution that didn’t exist (for them at least) before – this my friends is the corner stone of progression.
By wanting more out of your websites you push the envelope for website designers and thus push the web as a whole to a greater place.
